Dans ton café
02:45
|
|||
Quand tu’m’dis, “À la prochaine”
J’pense à ta vie puis à la mienne
Si on s’voyais plus souvent
On pourrait dire qu’on a pris le temps
De s’connaître un peu plus
Comme c’est là, j’sais même pas
C’que tu prends dans ton café
On s’voit din salons funéraires

If Walls Could Sing
04:40
|
|||
All we ever wanted was a hearth to call our own
All we ever needed was warmth inside our bones
Decades in the making, these walls became our home
We gently stoke the fire to gently warm the stones
We packed up our things
Got rid of a thousand more
And loaded the truck
We left it all behind
Neighbours and friends
It felt like the end
As we got further away
The sun came out as if to say, “It’s gonna be ok.”
And as we walked in the door
We felt a warm sweet breeze
Like we’d never felt before
From pigeons on the rooftops to chickens in the yard
We use to wake up with sirens, now we wake up with the lark
The kids had lots of firsts there, those memories shall remain
If walls could sing, they’d be singing about laughing
And playing and growing and singing, “Come back soon...”
The things we leave behind
Are echoes of another time
If we trust what we had
We will always keep a piece with us
Sometimes it feels far away
But the light in the sky shines on
The icicles melt on time
Like the river turns to rain
We all get to start again

Slumber Hard, Dream Deep
03:21
|
|||
The darkening of the day
The world can finally breathe
To speak with honest heart
Defining what’s beneath
The middle of the stars
The promises we keep
The darkening of the day
Slumbers hard, dreams deep
The spark in every flame
The friction forming heat
A gift of fuel and air
Combusting where they meet
They meddle with themselves
Not knowing why we weep
The spark in every flame
Slumbers hard, dreams deep
Under right conditions
All falling into space
Confluence and happenstance
Might seem from the same place
All these constant wonders
May start to seem mundane
The miracles and matter
All teeming out of the profane
The germ of every seed
Potentially a birth
Filling our lives with love
And gives a soul it’s worth
We tend our lives with hope
This garden we will keep
The germ of every seed
Slumbers hard, dreams deep

Dans le miroir
03:28
|
|||
Comme père
Il peut être si dur
Mais s’il le veut
Il peut être doux comme un mouton
D’une manière
Ou d’une autre
Il sera le modèle
Pour sa fille et son garçon.
Cet homme
Humble et fort
Tendre et soumis
Peut parler de son coeur
Et montrer
À ses enfants
Qu’il faut s’aider et s’aimer
Jusqu’à la dernière heure.
Le choix est le vôtre
Alors pourquoi s'blesser?
Ces mots sont les nôtres
Les marques seront laissées.
Il fait comme son père.
Il l’entend dans sa voix,
Et l’aperçoit dans le miroir.

Carling Lake
03:23
|
|||
I’ll meet you at the top again
The lift is running late
On your way down you can’t pretend
The line is always straight
Sometimes it feels like we’re floating
We’ve lost all control
But it lets up and soon we’re gliding
Feeling whole
Flying down the Ram with fury
Bombing down the Goat
I never second guessed the hurry
As the wind broke off my coat
We wanted to look good going down
It was the game to play
We made tracks upon the ground
Warmed up in the chalet
If we could get a ride to Carling Lake
We’d take the Pine Hill road
When the hill was freshly draped at Carling Lake
We were sure to go, we were sure to go
Some days the ice was much too slick
We couldn’t make a turn
It really was much too quick
The hard way we would learn
We grew up on that little hill
We didn’t know it yet
The memories that serve us still
We wouldn’t soon forget
If we could get a ride to Carling Lake
We’d take the Pine Hill road
When the hill was freshly draped at Carling Lake
We were sure to go, we were sure to go

Deux noms
03:56
|
|||
Quand ils m’ont vu, y’ont dit René
J’ai respiré, y’ont dit René
J’étais le garçon des Roys
Dans la rue, ça criait René
D’une voix douce, elles chantaient René
Dans le miroir c’était moi
À l’école, j’n’étais pas René
On m’app’lait autre chose que René
J’me sentais plus comme un Roy
Je n’savais plus où’était René
Pourtant ma mère m’app’lait René
J’essayais de d’suiv-re la loi
Je suis plus que mon nom
Pourquoi j’ai deux noms, pourquoi j’ai deux noms
Je suis plus que mon nom
Pourquoi j’ai deux noms, pourquoi j’ai deux noms
Parfois les gens m’appellent René
Je retrouve ce petit René
Ça m’rapporte beaucoup de joie
Et si tout’l’monde m’app’lait René?
C’n’est pas si dur de dire René
J’me sentirais comme un Roy
Encore une fois…

Myriad
03:10
|
|||
Of all the times I've won
Of all the lives I've lost
Nothing seemed as beautiful
Or came at such a cost
And although I tried
To be more than unkind
Undone by second chance
That we'd be left behind
Now nothing's the same
As it ever was before
And something has to change
To open up that door
Now nothing's the same
No more giving grief
Something's had to change
Like an autumn leaf
Can you paint a picture
Something that can last
A myriad of colours falling
On what became so fast
Make me a memory
A shining work of art
Deeply within yourself
Right there from the start
Now nothing's the same
As it ever was before
Everything has changed
And became much more
Nothing's the same
Hidden underneath
Some things have to change
Like an autumn leaf

My Way Around
04:06
|
|||
Paddling down a river with a broken hip
Running through the forest, blinded by darkness
Wondering what it would be like to feel nothing at all
Trying to stay connected beyond these walls
Trying to let go of the fear
That I might never see you again
I’m pushing but I can’t let go
Some days are high, some are low
I’m trying to grow
Climbing up a hill with a grade so steep
Running out of breath when I’m much too deep
Bearing a heavy load with legs that won’t carry me
Walking down a winding road
Wishing I had something to show
Waiting for that perfect moment to glow
I’m pushing but I can’t let go
Some days are high, some are low
I’m trying to grow
I can’t seem to find my way around this time
I might have things to do today
Though the odds are stacked against me
I will find a way... to grow...
Trying to sing a note but my throat’s dried up
The melody’s lost in the silence
Trying to find a place where it belongs
Hanging off a cliff, but my arms are weak
The river below is reaching
Maybe jumping in isn’t so bad after all
I’m pushing but I can’t let go
Some days are high, some are low
I’m pushing but I can’t let go
Some days are high, some are low

Je tournais la clé
03:59
|
|||
Ça m’a tellement marqué
Je ne pourrais jamais l’oublier
Ils l’ont assassiné
Je n’ai pas pu le sauver
Je tournais la clé
Quand mon ami nous a quitté

Join Me
03:37
|
|||
Join me
Stay for a while
Laugh while we sing
Dance while we while
Join me
The smile on your face
Walking together
Finding our place
Time’s but a fragment
Of a one track mind
Going ever forward
Never looking behind
Join me
And we
We’ll be combined
Our lives together
Our love entwined
And we
We're forming anew
Little part of me
Plus a part from all of you
Time's but a fragment of a one track mind
Living for the moment
Loving what we’ll find
Join me
He makes me realize
There’s more to our world
Than earth sea and sky
She never leaves it to chance
We live it all together
Join in the dance
Time’s but a fragment
Of a one track mind
Going ever forward
Never looking behind
Join me

Ring the Bell
04:30
|
|||
Did you mean to outrun yourself?
You’re second to nobody else.
You put greed before your health,
Trying to be first to ring the bell.
Did you mean to stretch yourself thin?
The mountain of work couldn't wait.
The worry came from within,
To be the first to build the gate.
Did you mean to let loose ends hang?
You didn't give closure a chance.
You were searching for the biggest bang.
Instead you got one final dance.
Did you mean to just take this call?
You said that it just couldn’t wait.
Now it seems you’ve hit a wall,
And they’ll remember you were always late.
Did you mean to throw it all away?
They were calling but you couldn't hear.
They were begging for you to stay,
But you gave in to your worst fear.
Did you mean to outrun yourself?
You’re second to nobody else
You put greed before your health,
Trying to be first to ring the bell.

J'ai tout donné
03:45
|
|||
Je me suis donné à Capucine,
Angélique et Jasmine
Là, je suis seul sur la prairie
Et toutes les fleurs sont mes amies
J’ai tout donné, j’ai tout donné
Toutes les fleurs ont fleuri
J’ai tout donné, j’ai tout donné
Toutes les fleurs sont mes amies
